Charity Highland Dancing Festival The Festival’s aim is to raise much needed awareness and funds for charities through highland dancing

Calling morning pre-premier dancers - can we tempt you with half an hour extra in bed?!
We'd love to see some more entries in our morning sections for the AADF charity dance festival in Newtonhill on 1st November. We're moving the start time to 9.30am to make it just that wee bit more relaxed to get here - and with three judges we'll still be finished in good time!
We also have just a few final prize categories available for sponsorship @£25 per section if anyone was still wanting to support the charity WeToo! PM us for more info.
Thank you!
Kathryn, Celeste, Kerry, Lauren

No rest for festival organisers – with less than four weeks to go to the AADF charity competition, we’re settling down most nights with a cuppa and getting stuck into medal centre sticking!
This is an ideal moment to say a huge thanks to all the generous sponsors of our dance categories whose donations are helping us provide special prizes for the dancers, while making every penny count for the charity We Too!
Shout out to:
Aird Dancers Revival Kate School of Dance Plumbing & Heating Dental Centre, Huntly Irvine ‘n’ Print Stonehaven Ice Cream Stonehaven Lindsay School of Dancing and Overflow. Thank you all so much!
If you haven't entered yet we'd love to see you, our morning session is looking unusually quiet at the moment - https://www.rsobhd.net/events/aadf-charity-competition/

Absolutely delighted with these lovely hampers that have been kindly donated by Dancewear Revival and Walker School of Dance for the AADF charity competition we are hosting in Newtonhill on 1st November.
Some lucky person will go home with the Marshalls Farm Shop Scottish Afternoon Tea hamper with more than £50 of goodies generously donated by Dancewear Revival.
And we're sure there will be many dancers with their eye on the Flying Tiger stationary hamper gifted by Walker School of Dance.
Thanks to everyone who has been in touch with donations or sponsorship for the event - we'll be highlighting all of your support over the coming weeks.
In meantime if you'd like to make a donation to support the fundraising for chosen charity We Too! please drop us a line.
Or just come along on the day and enjoy the dancing!

Did you spot We Too - the chosen charity for our November competition - out at the Highland Games this year?
As the 2026 games season draws to a close we thought it would be timely to highlight this aspect of We Too's work - providing a thoughtful quiet spot with children's activities at a range of public events so that those who need a little quiet time away from the main action can find a space - while still being part of the day out.
We spotted them at Aberdeen Highland Games and said hello!
Your support for our November 1st competition will help the charity continue this kind of support for families and much more.
Thanks to the many people who responded to our last post with offers of sponsorship and donations - you are amazing (more on that to follow!)
If you're still to enter the competition find the form here - we'd love to see you on the day!

*Trophy returns*

Emails were sent to all of the 2025 Circle of Comfort event winners earlier this week. If you plan to join us or can make your own arrangements- please hang onto your trophy until the day.

If you can't make it to Newtonhill on November 1st, or find someone to return your award for you, Celeste (Walker School, one of this years organisers) can collect at Forfar Championship this coming weekend.

We would be grateful if teachers could remind their pupils that awards won in Kelty last November, need to come back to us in Newtonhill this year.

Still to enter? We are working hard to host a lovely day of dance in support of a wonderful cause. Come and join us...

With 8 weeks to go to the annual charity competition in Newtonhill we’re busy preparing special prizes for the dancers and some great fundraising activities for this year’s charity We Too!
If you, your dance school or your business could help with a donation of any kind to the event we’d be delighted to have your support!
All donations big or small will be most welcome, but if you’re looking for inspiration we'd be most grateful to receive offers of:
💚Hampers for a special raffle (or sponsorship to allow us to purchase a hamper on your behalf if that's easier)
💚Sponsorship for the awards for individual categories (around £25 for a group)
Thank you to those who have already been in touch to offer generous support for this event – we’re off to a great start!
If you, your dance class or your business would also like to help please message Kathryn, Celeste, Lauren or Kerry or email [email protected].
All supporters will be highlighted in the programme and at the event and all profits go to the charity We Too supporting children and families in the North East. Read more about their important work below.
And finally, remember dancing entries are open via the RSOBHD events page!
Thank you!

🌟Charity 2026 Competition 🌟

We are delighted to announce that this year's Charity competition will be hosted by Kincardine and Mearns Festivals. We are excited for Celeste, Lauren and Kathryn who will be taking the competition up to Newtonhill on 1st November 2026 for the charity We Too.

We Too! is a customer-led charity supporting families of children with disabilities across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

We wish them the best and we know they’ll make this event special.
