Friends Of Swannie Ponds Friends of Swannie Ponds meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the 2nd month. Click on Events for dates, times and location. You are more than welcome to attend.

The Swannie Ponds are in Stobsmuir park which is located between Clepington Road, Pitkerro Road and Stobsmuir Road. The ponds proved popular for boating from the 1920s and were also used for skating in the winter, although today they are rarely frozen(apart from winter 2010). During the Second World War the ponds were filled in to prevent reflections that would provide a target for enemy aircraft,

but following the war they were then re-excavated. This park has a little kids' play area, and is a nice place for a stroll around the ponds and perhaps you want to feed the swans and ducks that live there?
