Togs - Children's Clothing Bank for Tayside

After 11 incredible years of supporting children and families across our community Togs as an independent charity and service is coming to an end. However, we are delighted to share that, in principle, Dundee Bairns will be taking the service forward. This represents a wonderful opportunity for the future, allowing children and families to benefit from enhanced support that a larger organisation, with a commitment to helping our community thrive, can provide.

We are immensely proud of everything that has been achieved over the past decade. None of it would have been possible without the unwavering support of our volunteers, partners, funders, supporters and the many families who have been part of the Togs journey. Your kindness, generosity and belief in what we do have helped make a meaningful difference to countless lives, and for that we will always be grateful. However we’ve recognised that to grow and evolve and to reach more Bairns, change is needed.

We are currently working closely with Dundee Bairns to finalise the arrangements and ensure a smooth transition, with the aim of protecting the values and impact that have always been at the heart of Togs, creating new opportunities for growth and development.

With immediate effect, and moving forward, referrers are asked to contact Dundee Bairns directly at [email protected] for assistance.

Although this marks the end of one chapter, it is also the beginning of another. We look forward with optimism and excitement to seeing the legacy of Togs continue and evolve at Dundee Bairns, reaching even more children and families in the years ahead as part of a holistic service.

⭐️ Corra Foundation ⭐️

We wanted to share the positive impact of the recent £5,000 funding received from the . This funding enabled Togs to purchase clothing vouchers for teenagers experiencing poverty, giving young people the dignity and choice to select essential items that suited their own needs and preferences.

Despite significant challenges caused by the loss of access to our premises due to the serious building issue and the very short turnaround time to issue the vouchers, we worked alongside referral partners to identify young people in need and ensure all the vouchers were distributed successfully.

Thanks to this funding we have been able to support vulnerable teenagers across our local community and make a real difference to their lives ❤️

⭐️ Thank You ⭐️

Despite Togs being temporarily closed due to the roof collapse at Showcase the Street, some of our volunteers have still been busy in other aspects of volunteering.

They have supported YPI events within various high schools in Dundee, we are delighted that three groups from three different schools chose Togs and have all been successful in winning the prize of £3000! That’s £9000 in total won for Togs - congratulations to the winning group from Morgan, Grove and St John’s

⭐️ Thank you ⭐️

We would like to share a big thank you to volunteers Mollie and Sophie for your valued time to Togs over the years. The girls signed up as Togs volunteers when they arrived in Dundee to study at Dundee University. They have continued to come to Togs over the past 4 years when their studies allowed. They’ve now finished their degrees and are looking forward to their gap year. Thank you so much for choosing Togs and we wish you all the best for the future!

⭐️ Grove Academy ⭐️

Although Togs remains closed due to our building Showcase the Street being closed after a partial roof collapse, our volunteers are still busy in other capacities. Some of our team Karen, Jill and Pam visited Grove Academy to receive a cheque for £3000!

A group of S2 pupils Hayden and Nicole chose to represent Togs at the schools YPI event, they won first place and won the money for Togs 🥳 Head Teacher Mr Woodcock is also in the photo, thanks so much for supporting Togs
