Dundee Westfest is a volunteer-led community festival bringing people together in Dundee’s West End through music, markets, family fun and community events ☀️

Entirely run by volunteers, Dundee WestFest hosts Big Sunday; its annual music and gala day on Magdalen Green, and Winter Westfest on Perth Road as part of the West End Christmas Fortnight.

📣 Westfest AGM 2026

Our Annual General Meeting is coming up, and everyone is welcome to join us.

It’s a chance to hear more about what Dundee Westfest has been doing over the past year, what’s planned next, and the work that goes into running Big Sunday on Magdalen Green and Winter Westfest in Dundee’s West End.

We’re also actively looking for new people to get involved with Westfest, whether that’s joining the committee, volunteering at our events, or bringing skills and experience that could help us.

We’d especially love to hear from people interested in event planning, social media, marketing, music and live events, festivals, markets, fundraising or community engagement. But if you’re local and simply think you have something useful to offer, we’d love to meet you too.

You don’t need to commit to anything by coming along - the AGM is a great opportunity to meet the team, find out more and see whether you’d like to get involved.

A huge thank you from all of us at Westfest!🎡🤍

What a fantastic Big Sunday 2026. A little bit of Scottish weather wasn’t enough to stop the fun, and it was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying a day filled with live music, community spirit, great food, family activities and plenty of Westfest magic. ☀️

From talented local musicians and young performers to folk favourites, Cajun sounds and 80s classics, our stages were buzzing all day long. We hope everyone who came along had as much fun as we did.

A huge thank you to all of our performers, traders, community groups and activity providers who helped create such a varied and vibrant programme throughout the day.

Most importantly, thank you to our incredible volunteers. Westfest is organised and delivered by volunteers, and events like Big Sunday simply wouldn’t happen without the many people who give up their time before, during and after the event to make it all come together✨

We’re also incredibly grateful to our main sponsors, Kerr’s Dairy, McDonald’s in the Community and the Northwood Charitable Trust, whose support helps make Westfest possible.

Thank you as well to Aztec Sound & Lighting Hire, ACE Community Events, Steve Page, Henderson Gray, Summers End Angus, and the many other businesses, organisations and individuals who supported this year’s event with their time, expertise, equipment and generosity.

Westfest is a true community effort, and we’re proud to see what can be achieved when people come together.

We’ve got fun for the whole family at Westfest, with plenty of free kids activities to keep everyone entertained these summer holidays!🌟🎡

We’ve got everything ranging from rides and football games, mascots to meet, arts and crafts, mobile libraries and live music and dancing. Keep reading to find out what’s happening👀

We have the Big Lunch in collaboration with the Eden project, very kindly organised by the West End Community Council, providing company, chat and table top activities whilst you eat your lunch💫

Entertainment will be in full swing throughout the day, with Ascend Dance Academy and Addicted to Dance showcasing their incredible talent in front of the main stage. The Dundee City Pipe Band will be opening the event, starting things out with a bang 💫

There will also be a wide range of activities to enjoy, including inflatable basketball games from Ace Community Events, football with two of Dundee’s clubs, Dundee FC and Dundee United’s community trusts, arts and crafts from Transition Dundee, funfair rides and games, and displays from the 7th Scots Army and the Scottish Fire Brigade. As well as a special mobile library for those seeking some quiet from the chaos… with so much to see and do, Westfest promises to be a fantastic day out for all ages!
