Social Enterprise Scotland Summit

Yesterday, Kanzen for Life was proud to attend the Social Enterprise Scotland Summit 2026, where leaders from across Scotland came together to explore how we can build stronger communities and a fairer economy through social enterprise.

A major theme throughout the day was the Community Wealth Building and the opportunity it presents for anchor organisations, public bodies and communities to work together to keep wealth, opportunities and investment circulating locally.

We heard from Tom Arthur MSP, Minister for Business and Employment, who outlined the Scottish Government's vision for Community Wealth Building and its potential to transform local economies across Scotland.

Our Chief Officer, Roy O'Kane, also joined a breakout panel discussion, "From Procurement to Community Wealth: Unlocking NHS Scotland's Buying Power", exploring how public sector procurement can be used not only to purchase goods and services, but to create lasting social value, strengthen local organisations and support healthier, more resilient communities.

If public money isn't building local wealth, local jobs and stronger communities, then the system isn't working.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and working with partners across Scotland to ensure Community Wealth Building delivers outcomes for the people and places that need it most.
