The weather made work much more enjoyable 🌞 Ladybirds were also enjoying the sun.

BiodiversityBlair have achieved amazing things in Blairgowrie green spaces, especially reducing the extent of alien invasive Himalayan Balsam.

Today Dundee Conservation Volunteers joined them for a serious assault on a wetland next to Davie Park. A huge area to tackle, but with a combined team of 15 we made a great impact.

Some of the biggest HB plants I have ever seen.

Thank you to the Ericht Ale House for hosting our after session drink, which we should do more often 🙂

Himalayan Balsam pulling, much less than last year. We are definitely on top of the invasive w**d here.
Rebuilding a woodland giant xylophone. Lots of head scratching, reusing much of the old xylophone (including the keys, securing cable and fencing staples) but we got there in the end.
What a team effort.

Photos from yesterday's Rhododendron removal at Bamff Estate near Alyth. Over the years we have cleared a lot of invasive Rhododendron here, and the woods are significantly more natural.

After initial cutting, each stump should be checked each year and regrowth trimmed until the stump gives up.
