THANK YOU

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who made yesterday's spring market such a joyful day!

Everyone who came along for a visit and made a contribution to our fundraising. It was lovely seeing so many of you enjoying the market, chatting in the kitchen and enjoying a drink and cake on the sunny terrace! We received lots of positive feedback, which we are so pleased about.

Thank you so so very much to our makers who gave up their time to be there. They all helped us to transform Maggie's Dundee into one big pop-up shop of gorgeous handmade products, gifts and treats. All the stalls looked just wonderful against the Maggie's backdrop.

And a huge huge thank you to the Maggie's volunteers who made the day run so smoothly! Who helped us move all the furniture to free up space for stalls, welcomed the visitors, served teas and coffees and their homebaking and looked after the raffle. Thanks so much for giving up your time for Maggie's.

We hope you all enjoyed the day as much as we did. It will still take a few days to work out the total raised, but we'll let you know soon!

COMING HOME

We have had some great markets over the past few years and have been in a number of different locations and also online during the pandemic. But this year we are going back to where it all started: ! Back to the roots.
On Saturday, 10 May we'll throw open the doors of one of Dundee's loveliest and most welcoming buildings and we'll be filling it with artists. makers and designers. It's going to be a celebration of Dundee's Maggie's centre and a celebration of design and all things handmade.
Even the cakes and treats in our pop-up café/tearoom will be handmade (or rather home-baked) by the Maggie's volunteers. And there will be a raffle filled with handmade goodies too!
We can't wait to welcome you into the building designed by Frank Gehry, show you around and show you everything our makers have been making for this day. And you can enjoy the amazing view over the river Tay from the little room upstairs that has the biggest window. Enjoy some refreshments in the welcoming kitchen and going by the weather forecast you'll also be able to relax in the beautiful garden and maze outside.
And most importantly - help us raise lots of vital funds for Maggie's Dundee, so they can continue to support everyone in Tayside who is affected by cancer.

Makers for Maggie's spring market 10 May from 12 - 4pm at Maggie's Dundee. Entry is £1 donation to Maggie's.
Please note that parking at the centre is very limited. If possible, please park in a nearby street and walk up to the centre, cycle or use public transport. Please don't park in the A&E car park as spaces need to be available for emergency patients.

We can't wait to welcome you! The Makers for Maggie's

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AHEAD OF MAKERS FOR MAGGIE'S

This year's Makers for Maggie's spring market will take place at on 10 May from 12 - 4pm.

If you are planning on joining us on the day, remember that the car park at the Maggie's Centre is very small. We would ask you to keep these spaces free for anyone who might need to park close by. Please park in one of the streets nearby or you can use one of the Ninewells main car parks. Please do not park in the car park in front of A&E to keep these spaces for emergency patients.
Hopefully the sun will be out on Saturday and you can walk or cycle to Maggie's. There is also a bus stop right outside Maggie's served by bus numbers 5A (Xplore busses) and 16 (stagecoach busses). The main bus stops in front of Ninewells are served by many bus routes and are a 5 - 10 minute walk away.

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!
We can't wait to welcome you to our spring market on Saturday!

See you all soon.

WILD ANIMALS

We're looking forward to seeing all the wild creatures that will be bringing to Makers for Maggie's spring market this year!

ABOUT
Jennifer Black is a self-taught artist, based in Anstruther, Fife, working under the name of wooltide. She handmakes all of her work from recycled materials and magazines to create light-hearted, decorative and useful 3D creatures and characters. She uses colour, shape and texture with some added humour.
Recently Jennifer began creating little paper mache people, Magsies and Zinis, made from magazines - hence the names. The words on the paper used to make these human figures are relevant to each character made. The figures are a joyful and thoughtful way of portraying imagined and real people.

WHY MAGGIE'S
I would be delighted to help with raising money again for Maggie’s essential service which provides so much support and hope for those affected by cancer. I have friends who have benefited from Maggie’s and I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this kind fund raising community.

DONATION
Jennifer will make an additional donation of every sale to .

CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS

Are you looking to fill an empty wall space with Scottish landscapes? Come and see 's new paintings at Makers for Maggie's spring market on 10 May!

ABOUT
Victoria is a fine art painter - she makes contemporary landscape paintings from her home studio in Forfar. Exploring the wilderness of Scotland's land and sea, she creates bold, striking, and atmospheric paintings that celebrate nature’s vastness – the ever-changing drama of shifting elements and the dynamic interplay of light where sky, sea, and land meet.
Her paintings evoke a deep sense of openness and calm, yet through expressive brushstrokes, rich textures, and bold colour contrasts, she captures the fleeting intensity of stormy skies, golden bursts of sunlight, and rolling rain clouds.

WHY MAGGIE'S
I want to raise funds and support because cancer has impacted my family and friends, and I’ve seen first-hand the incredible support Maggie’s provides. Friends and loved ones have benefited from their outstanding services, making this cause very close to my heart. The building itself is such a special place, and returning there to sell at the Makers Market will be a wonderful experience. I’m honoured to give back to a place that offers so much comfort and care.

DONATION
Victoria will make an additional donation of every sale to Maggie's Dundee.

Come and pick up a painting, a print or some cards on 10 May at Maggie's Dundee from 12 - 4pm.
