The classroom/lecture theatre should be a place to learn, grow and feel safe.

But for many LGBTQ+ students, it’s still a place where they experience bullying, exclusion and silence.

These stats are shocking.
But they’re also why visibility, representation and Pride still matter.

Happy Pride Month 🌈

There’s always something really special about June.
The flags come out, people show up for each other a little louder, and LGBTQ+ joy feels that bit more visible.

But Pride was never meant to live in one month alone.

For a lot of people, being out, feeling accepted, finding community or simply feeling safe enough to be yourself is something navigated every single day of the year.

So while we’ll absolutely celebrate this month (very loudly, obviously), we also want to remember that Pride isn't just a 30-days of the calendar.

It lives in conversations, support, allyship, visibility and community all year round 💖

And in just a few weeks, Dundee Pride returns to Slessor Gardens for a day full of community, visibility and unapologetic joy.
