Coming up tomorrow! Join Professor Fionn Stevenson for a free workshop exploring practical, affordable ways to improve comfort in your home throughout the year.
As our climate changes and energy costs remain a concern, understanding how our homes respond to heat and cold is becoming increasingly important.
Join Professor Fionn Stevenson for a free workshop exploring practical, affordable ways to improve comfort in your home throughout the year. Drawing on more than 30 years of research, Professor Stevenson will explain how four key factors influence how warm, cool and comfortable our homes feel:
Cross and stack ventilation
Thermal mass
Passive solar gain
Insulation
The session will focus on the types of homes many people in Scotland live in, including Victorian tenements, interwar housing and postwar homes built before the 1980s. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how these features work together and how simple changes can help keep homes cooler in warmer weather and warmer in colder weather.
Whether you work in heritage, housing, sustainability, community development, or simply want to learn more about improving your own home, this workshop offers valuable insights into making existing homes work better.
Date: Wednesday 30th September
Time: 3:00pm to 4:30pm
