We’ve just received this from Alzheimer’s Research -
Thank you for supporting Alzheimer's Research UK
Hello Isobel,
Thank you so much for your recent donation of £1,000 from the Dundee Total Recall Memories choir, following your recent concert on 7th August. Please do pass on our thanks to the committee for choosing us to be the beneficiaries, and please also thank everyone involved in the event.
I’m reaching out as I am part of the regionally based Relationship Fundraising team here at Alzheimer’s Research UK and I manage our local Fundraiser who works across Scotland. We are currently recruiting for a new Fundraiser, but hope to have someone back in post soon, in the next month or so.
Thanks to the support from groups like yours, we will change the lives of people affected by dementia. With your support, we are revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose, and prevent dementia, and this will bring us closer to a cure.
Dementia research really is at a tipping point, and your support is vital for us to push forwards towards a cure for this devastating disease.
We have breakthroughs in our sights – there are now more than 180 trials underway testing nearly 140 experimental treatments for Alzheimer’s across the globe, with over 30 in phase 3 trials.
Over the past two decades, researchers have identified over 70 risk genes that are linked to Alzheimer’s disease, opening up crucial avenues for drug discovery. Alzheimer’s Research UK funding has contributed to nearly all of these discoveries.
But there is still more we need to know, and that is why your support means so much to us.
Within a decade, we believe people with dementia will be able to receive an early and accurate diagnosis, and treatments that slow the progress of their underlying disease will exist.
You can find out more about the research that is only possible because of groups like yours at www.alzheimersresearchuk.org
We hope you will continue to stand with us as we strive for a cure.
If there is ever anything that we can help or support with in the future, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Thank you once again for your support.
Kind regards,
Matt Clarke
