During November, 2450 Dudhope cadets visited 1232 City of Dundee Squadron Air Training Corps for an evening with the RAF Engagement team.

Warrant Officer D gave us an in-depth insight of the roles and opportunities within the RAF, we were also able to ask questions and took part in team working exercises.

The cadets were also able to try out the flight sim and took part in other team exercises during the night.

Thank you Warrant Officer D and 1232 Squadron for hosting the night.

Last weekend, our cadets from 2450 Dudope squadron took part in the intersquadron swimming competition. Our cadets took part in a variety of races, giving it everything in each event and returning with multiple medals. Fantastic effort and well done for those who took part!

We also found out we finished 4th place for in the wing for last years sports events. A massive congratulations to the cadets that took part in sports this year. This has definitely boosted our excitement for next year’s sports.

🌟 Cadet Success Spotlight! 🌟

A huge shoutout to Corporal Temituro and Cadet Mutembo Temituro from 2450 (Dudhope) Squadron who recently took part in Garelockhead Camp! 👏

Throughout the camp, they immersed themselves in an incredible range of activities — from Silver Choir 🎶 and Silver Leadership 🏅 to MOI, Silver Space, and so much more 🚀.

As well as the visit from the RAF careers advisors🧑‍✈️✈️.

Their dedication, enthusiasm, and teamwork truly embody the spirit of the Air Cadets. 💪

Remembrance Sunday 2025

We saw around 50 air cadets from 2450 (Dudhope) Sqn Air Training Corps and 1232 City of Dundee Squadron Air Training Corps march through Dundee to join the Remembrance service

2450 Dudhope Squadron at Wing Central Ascent Camp

This summer, cadets from 2450 Dudhope Squadron took part in the Wing Central Ascent Camp at Otterburn, enjoying a week packed with adventure and new experiences. From the thrill of cliff jumping and wall climbing, to the excitement of paddle boarding and a shopping trip to Newcastle Mall, there was something for everyone.

Cadets also put their skills to the test with mountain biking and a challenging navigation exercise around Hadrian’s Wall, where they applied map-reading and teamwork in a real outdoor environment. A highlight of the week was the visit to RAF Boulmer, where cadets explored the operations bunker and discovered more about the vital role the station plays in air defence.

Back at camp, there was plenty of time for fun and camaraderie, with a lively barbecue, some light-hearted paper plate awards, and even the chance to celebrate two birthdays — for our very own Flying Officer Curran and Cadet M. Temituro.

With a mix of sports, adventure, celebration, and learning opportunities, the camp proved to be an unforgettable experience that strengthened friendships, built resilience, and gave our cadets the chance to push themselves while having a lot of fun along the way!

During the summer, Cadet Temituro had the incredible opportunity to go on a week-long camp visiting some of the most historic and inspiring places connected to the Battle of Britain and the RAF.

Our journey took us to RAF Cranwell, where the sense of tradition and training excellence was clear, and to RAF Coningsby, home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with its legendary Spitfires and Hurricanes. We also explored the International Bomber Command Centre, a moving tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who served, and watched the world-famous Red Arrows, whose precision flying left us in awe. Alongside these highlights, we visited the RAF Museum and other key sites, each deepening my appreciation for the courage, innovation, and dedication that shaped history. The camp was not only educational but also unforgettable, giving me a lasting connection to the legacy of the RAF.
