Yusuf Youth Initiative runs seven projects

Future Leaders Academy - is a faith based educational academy. The aim is to provide Islamic education within the context of modern day Scotland and to equip young people with the necessary knowledge of their faith. The classes are conducted within a modern classroom setting and include a youth club as well as sports sessions. The project began in Jan 20

13 with an enrolment of 12 children aged 5-9 years old. The academy aims to provide a broad and balanced education applicable to British Muslims and to support children in becoming well-rounded confident individuals with a strong and positive Islamic identity

YYI Youth Clubs – 5 clubs supporting young people aged 5-18 years old. As well as a weekly programme, the clubs incorporates a variety of projects such as disability awareness, health & wellbeing and anti-poverty campaigns. In addition, 22 young people are signed up to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme at different levels. The youth clubs also incorporate sports and occasional trips, as well as assisting the young people in organising their own events. This is especially empowering as they are given the opportunity to plan, execute and review the projects. ChangeMakers - an exciting youth development project supporting young Muslims (aged 16-24) in Dundee. We also run an employability programme reaching out to high schools across the City connecting them with volunteering opportunities, employment support and community activities. Taught by Muhammad - an outreach project aimed at building understanding between Muslim and the wider community. We work across the city with a particular focus on regeneration areas. Our areas of work include volunteering, support-cafes, foodbank and community empowerment initiatives

Engage - our project reaches out to minority adults developing their physical and mental wellbeing through a range of activities and services. Bikieum -

Victoria Gardens - a 10,000sq ft community space and urban growing area. We also manage;

DundeeMuslims - a page set up to promote activity, products and services to the Muslim community of Dundee. The page also acts as a hub for new students and residents to Dundee to ask questions and make contact with people in Dundee.
