Today, the profits from Leisure & Culture Dundee's Santa Dash were presented to Dundee Bairns - Fun and Food Programme at Dundee Central Library (L&CD's HQ). The annual Charity Santa Dash took place on Sunday 4 December 2022, and raised over £4,700 for the charity.
Judy Dobbie, Managing Director of Leisure & Culture Dundee said
"We love organising this event as part of the festive celebrations in the city. The 2022 Santa Dash was about getting people active, having fun and, importantly, raising funds for Dundee Bairns. They do a fantastic job of assisting those most in need in our communities, and we are delighted that the participants and their supporters have helped us raise these funds for the charity."
Genna Millar, Project Co-ordinator from Dundee Bairns, said
"The volunteers, staff and Trustees of Dundee Bairns have all enjoyed being a part of the Santa Dash this year. It has been a wonderful opportunity to share the work that we do to support children and families in Dundee. It has been such a fun experience and we are so grateful for the opportunity to get involved. Many thanks to Leisure & Culture Dundee for choosing Dundee Bairns, to our amazing sponsors and charity partners, our volunteers, and everyone who took part, helping us to help Dundee's Bairns!"
A spokesperson from Santa Dash partners, Royal Bank of Scotland, said
"It was wonderful to see so many participants in their Santa suits! We have been supporting Dundee Bairns for over a year now, and we were honoured to sponsor such a fantastic community event that will help Oor Bairns to thrive."
A spokesperson for sponsors KESR Developments and Mordente Plumbing Gas Heating, said
"We chose Dundee Bairns to sponsor because it’s just a great cause in our local community and we love the work these guys do, also the staff are amazing and work hard to provide and help these disadvantaged families.
