Dundee FC Historical Trust Secures 1910 Scottish Cup Winners’ Medal
The Dundee FC Historical Trust is proud to announce that we have successfully secured the Scottish Cup winners’ medal awarded to the player who scored the decisive goal in the second replay of the 1910 Scottish Cup Final – John Hunter.
This medal is one of the most significant artefacts in the club’s history — a tangible link to Dundee’s only Scottish Cup triumph and to one of the defining moments in our early years. Its preservation within the Trust’s collection ensures that future generations of supporters will be able to connect with the story of that victory.
The Trust wishes to place on record our sincere thanks to the supporters and supporter groups who rallied behind this effort. Their swift generosity and commitment allowed us to raise the necessary funds in an exceptionally tight timeframe. This achievement is a testament to the passion of the Dundee support and the shared belief in protecting and celebrating our club’s history.
The Trust is committed to continuing our fundraising efforts in order to bring home other items of memorabilia- both items that we have identified and other items that will appear, like this medal, unexpectedly. The Historical Trust has recently taken custody of a unique set of scrapbooks covering 1961/62 Championship winning season, 62/63 European Cup run and third one with articles and pictures.
Today is the day of all days to share this great price of history from our clubs golden period from a fans point of view, wonderful reading!!
The plan next is to get these oversized scrapbooks digitally scanned and put on our website

It's been a week marked by sadness following the passing of Billy Campbell and Gordon Wallace. Gordon's death comes poignantly on the eve of a match between two clubs to which he gave such loyal service. I was grateful for the chance to write about him for the programme in 2020.
