Not sure if you should call 111? 🤔
We can help you get the right care, in the right place.

☎️ Call 111 when:
• You feel unwell and need urgent advice, but it’s NOT life-threatening
• You think you might need A&E, but it isn’t an emergency
• You need help and your GP, pharmacy or dentist is closed
• You’re experiencing mental health distress and need support

When you call, a trained team will assess your symptoms and make sure you get the right help. That could be advice, a call from another clinician, or being directed to a local service.

REMEMBER:
🚨 Always call 999 or go to A&E for life-threatening emergencies.

WATER SAFETY MESSAGE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

STAY SAFE AROUND WATER

Rivers, reservoirs, lochs, canals, ponds and the sea may look inviting, but they can be far more dangerous than they appear.

Cold water shock, hidden hazards, strong currents and sudden changes in depth can affect anyone — even strong swimmers.

BEFORE YOU GO NEAR WATER:
* Never enter water alone.
* Stay away from steep banks, edges and slippery surfaces.
* Avoid jumping into unknown water.
* Keep well back from fast-flowing rivers and flooded areas.
* Respect safety signs and barriers.
* Tell someone where you are going and who you are with.

IF SOMEONE GETS INTO DIFFICULTY:

📞 PHONE 999
🛟 FLOAT – Lie on your back, keep calm and control your breathing.
🛟 THROW – Throw something that floats.

🛑 Never enter the water to attempt a rescue.🛑

⚠️REMEMBER⚠️
Being a strong swimmer doesn't make open water safe.

Think before you enter the water and look out for your friends.

📢 HELP US KEEP DUNDEE’S YOUNG PEOPLE SAFE THIS SUMMER! 🌊

It is the Royal Life Saving Society’s Drowning Prevention Week, and the Dundee Community Resilience Team needs your help to share life-saving water safety messages.

With the summer holidays just around the corner, our local waterways become busy. We want to make sure our young people know the risks and stay safe.

How your community group or organisation can support us:

Share our graphics: Post our water safety images on your page or stories this week.

🗣️ Spread the word: Remind your members, parents, and youth groups about the importance of water safety.

Just one share could start a vital conversation and help save a life in our community. 💙

👉 Can your group help? Please circulate our water safety images.

Thank you for helping us keep Dundee
