Today we introduce someone in an essential position to any band - our Musical Director.
Here’s what Paul has to say:
My musical experience began in the Salvation Army where I learned to play cornet and joined the Coventry Young People’s band - it’s my privilege now to be the band leader. Playing, conducting and listening to brass bands sits alongside cricket as two of my great loves.
I was delighted to be appointed as the Musical Director of the Dunchurch Band in June 2012. Since then, it’s been good to hear players develop, to raise playing standards through concerts and competitions, and to receive new music from band members Robin Killick and Dave Mann, as well as Salvation Army composers such as Seb Farrell and Ian Feltwell.
Dunchurch Band is a special place and while the group meet to make music, friendships and care for each other underpin everything we do. It’s my pleasure to be part of this community. If you can play or you’d like to learn, I encourage you to come and meet us - I promise you’ll be made to feel welcome!
