Muddy Buddies are on this Monday, 11th May!

It's Activities Week at the school so they'll be taking over the Gathering Place. We will meet up there, but then we will push further into the woodland at 10:45.

I will share our final location on WhatsApp when we arrive but it will likely be the BearPit Clearing - where we've been before.

We will take some kit with us and brew up some Chai over the fire.

Giant bubbles,

Muddy Buddies Easter Egg Hunt!

Hey everyone, Easter is near and it's time to check if that Bunny has visited the woods with his basket of goodies...

This Monday, 30th March, we'll have a special wee session of Muddy Buddies and you are welcome to join.

All the usual activities will be there but we will also be scouring the shrubbery for chocolate eggs.

Please bring a hardboiled egg or two to paint and roll.

Muddy Buddies Monday 23rd February

We're off next week for the February break but we hope to be back on the 23rd. It's an in-service day so you may have older children at home. They would be very welcome to come and hang out in the woods. (I will make sure that we will have marshmallows to toast, if that helps).

The sun was shining today and the birds were singing in the trees. I'd like to make the theme of the day "Birdsong".

I'll tell a couple of bird stories and we will use an app to tell us what birds there are, singing around us.

The app that I use is the Merlin Bird ID app by Cornell Lab. It's a bit like Shazam but for birds and it's free. If you have another app that you like to use, please share it in the comments.

If you have a pair of binoculars at home, please bring them along. We can try and spot who's singing nearby.

So remember, bring your Muddy Buddies graduates or older siblings, everyone is welcome!

We meet at the Gathering Place on the corner of Kellie Road and Middlemas Road. Please be mindful of our lovely neighbours and park away from the junction.

Drop-ins and early departures are all absolutely fine. We start at 10:30 and run until 13:00. If you arrive early, your help setting up will be greatly appreciated, if you can stay a little later, then an extra hand at tidying never goes amiss. People are great, though, there's always loads of help.

If you can donate £4 per child, it helps us buy food, fuel and replace or repair our kit but don't worry if you find yourself short, we'd rather see you than your money, any day of the week.

Anyway, fingers crossed for fair weather. See you then, I hope.
