I am sorry to let you know that the Ridge Cafe has now been closed down by the council until this corona virus is under control - will keep you updated as we know more.
Needless to say there will be no more Hungry Hatch for forseeable future. Stay safe folks and see you on the other side ...

Building relationships is at the heart of what we do at Hungry Hatch - we know the act of sitting together for a meal can be the first step to building relationships & community links, which can be life changing as our regulars will agree! As well as a free 3 course meal & good company you can always take a pot of soup from Sunny Soups or some tins of food from the larder in Pod 6. Ridge Cafe will be closed next Monday for September Weekend however we will be back on Monday 23rd if you would like to come along - remember to book in please, it is really disappointing when people book in and don’t turn up like last night - we are trying to help the community AND stop food waste!

For the next two Thursdays (11th & 18th), Hadd Peer Project are holding their regular soup-and-chat group at Dunbar Parish Church Hall. It's a free drop-in, anyone is welcome, with particular support for those who have experienced or are struggling with their mental health. Turn up, make soup together, have a blether and a cup of tea, between 12 - 3pm. More details on the flyer :-)

So The Ridge Cafe customers have now raised £250 from our pay it forward scheme in association with Dunbar Basics food bank, thank to everyone who has donated!
So far since April last year we have served 1097 people a 3 course dinner at Hungry Hatch on Monday nights, saved 1178 k of food from going to landfill !! Go Dunbar :)) Thank to our Ridge Team especially Verity Sinclair who creates such fantastic meals, and George, Lucy, Daniel, Darwin, Liz, Abby - thanks you so much for volunteering, you are all awesome:))😊
We are open for the next 2 weeks for Hungry Hatch so please book in, the only day we are not open is Easter Monday !!!
