Galloway Longfhada Vikings Viking Reenactment group in Dumfries whose aim is to educate and entertain the public about early medieval period, in particular the 10th Century

Galloway Longfhada are the South West Scotland branch of "The Vikings". We educate members and the public about everyday life, and the dramatic events, around the end of the first millenium. We focus on the 10th Century and cultures present in what is now the UK and Eire. Our group in particular has an interest in Gael Gael/Hiberno Norse and Strathclyde British cultures. We also have a high proportion of artists and crafters - as well as warriors!

The Vikings Return
LOCKO PARK, JUNE 26-27th 2027
The Vikings are back at Locko Park! Enjoy an immersive day out in the Viking era, when the Great Army camped near Repton.
The Vikings are back! 5 years after the hugely successful Festival at Locko Park, we will be repeating this event.
Come and enjoy an immersive day out and walk back through the centuries into the Viking era. Wander through the village and watch our craftworkers in action. Learn how the Vikings used horses in warfare and mounted games, marvel at the skill of our archers and get up close to a battle with armies numbering in the hundreds.
