Viking Reenactment group in Dumfries whose aim is to educate and entertain the public about early medieval period, in particular the 10th Century

Galloway Longfhada are the South West Scotland branch of "The Vikings". We educate members and the public about everyday life, and the dramatic events, around the end of the first millenium. We focus on the 10th Century and cultures present in what is now the UK and Eire. Our group in particular has an interest in Gael Gael/Hiberno Norse and Strathclyde British cultures. We also have a high proportion of artists and crafters - as well as warriors!

We research, learn crafts, and make things. Sometimes just for fun, other times this develops into more of a side hustle.

Riveting though our usual Wednesday evening meetings are, none this evening!

Regular Wednesday evening meetings start up again on the 28th of October.

A quick reminder that we are not meeting in the hall this Wednesday or next (21st of October) as there are places to travel and things to see!

Musicians need makers who need foresters and herders. It all roots back to gardening in the beginning.
