Celebrating Andrew Walls and his remarkable contribution to The Crichton Foundation
The Crichton Foundation’s Annual General Meeting took place on Wednesday 23 September, and this year’s gathering was particularly special as we celebrated Andrew Walls’ retirement as Convenor — with, of course, cake and coffee! 🎂☕
Andrew has been an important part of The Crichton Foundation since 2010. Initially Chair of the Audit Committee, he went on to become Vice-Convenor before taking over as Convenor from Barbara in 2013. A very hard act to follow, but Andrew certainly rose to the challenge.
Throughout his time as Convenor, Andrew remained committed, supportive and always willing to help steer the Foundation through challenging times. He gave us a few health scares along the way too.
There were plenty of wonderful moments to celebrate as well — from a visit to Sandy Stoddart’s incredible studio, to Andrew’s television appearance on the Beechgrove Garden Roadshow, and his delight at being the only man in the room at the Women of Dumfries and Galloway Lunch.
And, of course, who could forget Andrew bringing the moon to The Crichton through the European Lunar Symposium in 2024? 🌙
The Crichton Foundation will continue to evolve and flourish with Kate Thomson at the helm.
In the meantime, we wish Andrew all the very best for his retirement — from The Crichton Foundation at least!
Thank you, Andrew, for everything. 👏
