LIFT D&G

LIFT D&G LIFT D&G = People that live in or associated with Lochside. We as a group want to bring the people of Lochside together and be a community again.

People that actually care what's happens in the area and want to improve it for all generations.

was created in December 2016 when Angela got together with her friends in a bid to better Lochside and make it a happy and bright place for kids to grow up in, Together with Claire, Carrie, Agnes, Ann and Debbie and now we have Cara and F

elix, (We also have Michelle and Stacey and Jim)... They have formed a strong group and are tackling all different kinds of issues that arise in their area. With the help of all the public and residents of Lochside the transformation is beginning to take place.

is Lochside is Families together. We will be part of the Big Burns Supper for December and January But we hope to make this a continuing thing. From fun days to Learning about Yester year in Lochside. We have things going on for the young and old but we can only do that if the great folk of the North west of Dumfries come and help us out!!! We will keep you all informed by Facebook or flyers in your letterbox. Christmas Parties, Easter Parties, Summer fun days no kid needs to do without or miss out, It will all be on at your Local community centre or in the big field. We also hope to get the local schools involved as well........

We have teamed up with Big burns supper, Our place, The Stove, also on board and needs a special mention is woodgrove community transport, They will also be working alongside us in the future to give you "Little Lifts"
More to come on that later.

We would have posted this last week

It’s been a bit chaotic at LIFT this last week, we have been planning, organising and gardening.
We would love to thank Sheena and family for the amazing donation we received. It will be put towards our community Garden with a beautiful tree.

CAN A LOCAL BUSINESS OR ORGANISATION HELP LIFT?

We’re urgently looking for strong metal shelving or storage racking to help our Community Exchange.

Following the recent accident that damaged one of our shops, we are currently limited to operating from one shop instead of two. We do have access to a storage unit, but it now needs to be properly fitted out so that we can use the space safely and effectively.

At the same time, the generosity of our community hasn’t stopped. We receive a huge amount of donated clothing and household items, and our staff and volunteers are working hard to manage everything within significantly reduced space.

Before we use community funds to purchase new equipment, we’d like to ask whether any local businesses or organisations could help.

We’re looking for:

* Strong metal shelving
* Heavy-duty storage shelving
* Warehouse or stockroom racking
* Shelving suitable for storing crates of clothing and household items
* Businesses that may be willing to sponsor or contribute towards suitable storage equipment

You may be refurbishing, moving premises, replacing existing racking or simply have good-quality shelving sitting unused that could have a second life in our community.

Getting our storage unit properly fitted out would allow us to move stock out of the remaining shop, create a safer and more manageable working environment for our staff and volunteers, and help us continue providing the Community Exchange service while the damaged shop is being dealt with.

We may be able to arrange local collection for suitable equipment.

If your business or organisation might be able to help, please send LIFT D&G a message.

And if you can’t help directly, we’d really appreciate a share to help us reach someone who can.

Thank you from everyone at LIFT D&G.

An unplanned night but James and Brooke decided the garden would be a lovely place to watch the eclipse, so myself and husband joined then, then along came others and before you know we had a mini event happening. Families came and joined us and brought some juice, crisps, marshmallows and biscuits. We had smores at the fire pit, and enjoyed the eclipse.
