'Dumfries Sling Library' is part of Bump, Baby and Beyond (Dumfries and Galloway), a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity number SC045122). We are a volunteer run sling library with a collection of over 50 ergonomic slings and carriers suitable from newborn to pre-school age. We offer sling hire, advice with fitting and general babywearing support, both face to face and through o
ur page. The library is fully insured and is run by a qualified team of peer supporters. The aim of our project is to empower parents and other carers to wear their child(ren) safely and comfortably in a sling that works for both the child's and adult's needs. We do not sell any slings or any other products. You can hire any of our slings for as long as required - as a one off for a trip or a holiday, just to give babywearing a go or to help you find a type / brand / model best suited to your needs before investing in your own. We can help you find reputable retailers and groups selling preloved slings, too. The majority of our slings available for hire at £3 per week. All stretchy wraps are free to hire until baby is 6 months old. All advice and support with fitting is free and we are happy to help with fitting your own sling as well as slings in our library. We are based at YMCA in Lochside, Dumfries. Details of sling meets will be published on our page but if there are no times that suit please message the page and we will try to arrange something. We are also happy to come and do demonstrations for groups where requested. Bump, Baby and Beyond (Dumfries and Galloway) is a parent led group based in Dumfries which became a registered Charity in September 2014.
