Tullochan

Tullochan Charity supporting young people ages 5-25 in West Dunbartonshire

Since its inception in 1996, Tullochan has helped change the lives of over 5000 young people throughout West Dunbartonshire. We have always changed and grown our services and activities in response to the requirements of local young people. In line with prevailing need, our present focus is entirely on supporting vulnerable, disadvantaged young people, in particular those who are leading chaotic l

ives often without role models or structures to achieve their potential. Our main activities are the delivery of a broad range of programmes under the priorities of health and well-being, personal development and employability. We operate within all five West Dunbartonshire secondary schools and provide a pipeline of support to young people throughout their schooling from S1 to S5 and include SQA qualifications as part of our model. In addition to this to ensure a seamless and holistic delivery model we have developed a 16+ programme, Tullochan Futures, which is specifically focused on employability and equipping young people with the skills to enable them to progress into employment, education or training.

What a wonderful first harvest we've had here at Tullochan!🌱

Our growing space is thriving, and we're delighted to have harvested leeks, potatoes, kale, tomatoes, celery, a variety of onions, and fresh herbs including rosemary, parsley and chives.

It's amazing to see the hard work, care and dedication that's gone into growing these fresh ingredients that are being used within our cafΓ©, The Common Good.

A fantastic achievement for everyone involved, and just the beginning of what's to come! If you'd like to get involved, reach out via our website for more information: www.tullochan.org/contact πŸ’š

πŸͺ‘ Furniture Donations Needed! πŸͺ‘

Our Furniture Fix programme is looking for unwanted furniture that could be given a new lease of life.

Through Furniture Fix, young people at Tullochan learn practical skills by upcycling, refurbishing and transforming donated furniture into unique, usable pieces. It's a great way to reduce waste while helping young people build confidence, creativity and employability skills.

If you've got some wooden furniture that you'd like to donate, please reach out πŸ’œ

This week marked the end of this group's Timber Transitions programme, and we wanted to celebrate Erin's fantastic achievement.

Throughout the programme, Erin developed new practical skills and put them to great use by building a shaded outdoor retreat for her elderly dog, Rocky.

Knowing how much Rocky loves spending time in the garden with the family, Erin wanted to create a safe and comfortable space where he could stay cool while still being part of the action.

Rocky was the first to put his new chill-out zone to the test, and it certainly looks like it has his seal of approval! πŸ•β€οΈ

Interested in joining our next Timber Transitions group? We'd love to hear from you!
