Youth Adventure Tameside Volunteer run non-profit making organisation, providing D of E expeditions for people of Tameside Y.A.T. We all hold current DBS.

was formed in 1974 by a small group of like minded people who wanted to offer something different to the children of the Tameside area. In the mid 1980s we became a registered charity (No.1055026) and have since had the privilege of receiving the Queens award for voluntary service

Our instructors all give up there time freely with the intention off getting kids of the streets and out int

o the countryside. We offer training and final expedition for the Duke Of Edinburgh award scheme. Drop us a line and ask for details and availability
Y.A.T. is a registered charity (No.1055026) and all our instructors work voluntarily. Our instructors are qualified to various levels of several outdoor activates. We all hold up to date first aid certificates with additional training to suit the outdoor nature of the roll. We are always looking for adults to assist and train to competent certification levels in the activities mentioned above. You can put in as much or as little time as you want although we do like to see everyone at least once a month even if just for a natter. Instructors meet weekly on a Monday night between 7:30 and 9 pm for D of E training and a catch up.

Don't forget 19:30 hrs this evening if you wish your child to join us for this years D of E.
Please bring your completed consent forms and £60 to reserve your child's place.
On tonight's agenda we have introduction to map reading and we will also be registering your child on the eD of E system so they can start recording their own journey through the D of E.
The session will end at 21:00hrs we are never early but please don't be late collecting your child. If you've made arrangements for your child to travel home with anyone other than yourself please inform us when dropping them off.

It was great to have a packed building of interested young people and their parents tonight to hear about the award. We hope they all decide to participate with us, and hopefully see them all next week to start their expedition training
