Celebrating the project "Save our Baths", Is now finished and ready to be shown 🎉

Wow wee! I’m so proud of my Dukinfield Craft Cafe gang for the beautiful and powerful exhibition of craftivism, SAVE OUR BATHS!

The group have been working on this project for 2 months, crafting up chats about what the closures of swimming baths means to us, making textile water, going on trips to wild water, sharing memories of water, modelling clay swimmers and celebrating our rights to activism! It’s filled my soul up to the top.

Thank you to the for making this project possible. You are dream boats.

You can come along and see this exhibition and do some thought provoking swimming thinking crafts at the Museum on Thursday 26th Oct and Saturday 28th Oct. You can also come and meet these amazing people at the craft along meet the artist day at the museum on Tuesday 31st Oct 10.30-1.30.

Thank you for all you do for our group!!

Ah gosh I love these people! It’s the biggest treat of my job to spend time with amazing people making art! Today we, the Dukinfield Craft Cafe (a project that started with the amazing work of the ) went on a trip to be near wild water for our Save Our Swimming Baths project. We talked about how it made us feel and what impact not being able to have access to proper public swimming baths has on our lives. We laughed and stomped. The rain stopped! It was such a lovely time. Thank you to the for making this project possible. We can’t wait to show you what we have made! Join us at the Museum on the morning of the 31st October to see and hear all about it.

Tomorrow myself and the dream boats over at the Dukinfield Community Craft Cafe will start a new craftivism project which is being kindly supported by the we will explore how we feel about the closure of the local swimming baths and looking to the future about how we can find other ways to explore and enjoy water.
