Happening now is our recreation sessions at Headway Black Country!

Through fun, engaging activities, the people we support can practise social and communication skills, build confidence, develop friendships and enjoy a sense of belonging.

Recreation is more than just having fun. It creates opportunities to connect with others, work together and explore new interests in a supportive environment. 💙

🎨 Creativity, connection and a helping hand! 🧩

Earlier this week, some of the people we support continued working on their chosen projects during our Creative Expression sessions.

From paint-by-numbers and jigsaws to our My Life Project, everyone had the opportunity to spend time doing something meaningful at their own pace.

What was particularly lovely to see was people helping and encouraging one another- sharing ideas, offering a helping hand and celebrating each other’s progress.

These sessions are about much more than completing a project. They provide an opportunity to build confidence, develop skills, express creativity and connect with others in a supportive environment.

A big well done to everyone who took part! 👏

We were delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Wolverhampton to our Dudley Centre yesterday.

It was wonderful to see them spend time with our staff and the people we support, taking a genuine interest in the work of Headway Black Country and the difference we make for people impacted by brain injury, their families and carers.

During their visit, the Mayor and Mayoress pledged their support to Headway Black Country and will help promote our work throughout the remainder of their Mayoral year where opportunities arise.

A huge thank you to the Mayor and Mayoress for taking the time to visit us and for their generous support. We look forward to working with them during their Mayoral year.

A special visit to our Willenhall Centre!

It was fantastic to welcome Alan Fleming, Mayor of Walsall, to our Willenhall Centre this morning.

We are incredibly grateful to Alan for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet our staff and the people we support who are impacted by brain injury.

Alan took a genuine interest in the work we do and spent quality time hearing about the support we provide every day.

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to showcase the dedication of our staff and the difference they make to the lives of people affected by brain injury, as well as their families and carers.

Thank you, Alan, for your kind offer to welcome our staff and the people we support to the Mayor’s Parlour in the coming months. We’ll certainly be taking you up on it!

Earlier yesterday, we were pleased to welcome Sureena Brackenridge MP for Wolverhampton North, to our Willenhall Centre.

Sureena spent time with the people we support, their families, carers and our staff, learning more about our work and the difference we make for people impacted by acquired brain injury and stroke.

Her genuine interest in our charity and the experiences of those we support is greatly appreciated.

In her role as a Headway UK Parliamentary Champion, Sureena is helping to raise awareness of brain injury and champion the issues that matter to people and families affected by it, both locally and nationally.

Thank you, Sureena, for your time, interest and continued support. We look forward to working with you to keep the needs and experiences of people impacted by brain injury firmly on the agenda.
