A message from Cllr Carol Littler and Cllr Adam Aston
Remembrance Sunday 2025 πŸ₯€

Afternoon
Woodsetton Litter Pickers and Community Group have been out and about this morning πŸ’š

It's not often I feel deflated when I'm with our fantastic volunteers but today I have a little in the 4 years since we started the group so I will list this mornings events in the 2 hours we were out so you can see the reality of what is going on in our small patch of Woodsetton πŸ’šπŸ’š
* Met up with the lovely Janina Jenkins, Jayne Bartley and James Storer and split into 2 teams so we could cover as much as possibleπŸ’š
* Jan and Jim covered some of Birmingham New Road, Vicarage Road West and several side streets. The alley way was terrible! See before and after pictures πŸ‘2 bags alone from the alley off Vicarage road west πŸ™„
* Jayne and myself tackled Oak St πŸ˜ͺand Chad Road and several side streets (see Jaynes post on her way back).
* Over 41 small vodka bottles in Chad Road!!! We only picked it last week. Who is doing this? Someone is selling these and they are just being tossed into the streetsπŸ˜ͺ
* Met up with Julie Sheldon, her hubby and fur babies πŸ•πŸ•, had a positive conversation and made plans for the community πŸ’š
* Had lots of thanks from other dog walkers and horn t***s πŸ’š
* Picked up the dumped charity bag by the Chinese that someone had rummaged through and discarded! Why??πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
* When carry bags to bin outside Bramford Hardware & DIY a gang of lads on road bikes parked on path and road, one asked if he could give me his rubbish, I said bag was tied and please don't drop and pointed to bin. He said I was being arsey so felt the need to throw it towards me has he wheelied off πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ™„πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
If you live local and help keep the litter down during summer holidays we can provide equipment πŸ’š

Good evening
πŸ“£We wanted to share some good news with you allπŸ“£
Woodsetton Litter Pickers and Community Group is now a formal constituted group. This will enable us to apply for funding opportunities and do more to improve and maintain our local area and Green spaces, which in turn will make a big difference to North Dudley πŸ’šπŸŒ³πŸ’š
We will share our exciting plans in the coming weeks but in the meantime please share our group with your social networks and thank you for all your support, it really does make a difference πŸ’šπŸŒ³πŸ’š

A fabulous start to the month this morning with some of our regular volunteers, 15 bags picked! πŸ’š Arcal Park had a good pick, plus Tipton road, Setton Drive, Turls Hill and Arcal Estate and other roads 🌳🌷Downfield Drive was particularly bad and could do with being adopted if anyone living nearby is interested, we can help you get set up πŸ’š
Lots of thank you's and positive conversations, shout out to the Grey Hound rescue volunteers 🐢
Some of the pictures show exactly why we do this!! πŸ¦ŠπŸ’šπŸŒ³πŸ’šπŸ΄

What a fabulous turn out this morning in windy Woodsetton 🌬13 volunteers, including our youngest member yet with over 27 bags of litter collected, Sedgley and Tipton road, Chad Road (including the steep embankment at the bottom), loads of side roads and the team also but a dent in Arcal Park πŸŒ³πŸ’š
The war memorial got a tidy ❀️ and so did the Bramford pub car park and the school entrance πŸ™„
Lots of fly tipping to be reported and I'm sure the team will add other locations in the comments belowπŸ‘‡
Some lovely members of the community stopping to chat and some dogs saying hello πŸ₯°πŸΆπŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ™‹β€β™‚️
