Glenurquhart Men's Shed

Glenurquhart Men's Shed A men's shed is a community-based, non-profit, non-commercial organisation. They are often reluctant to share concerns over health and personal worries.

Our aim is to provide opportunities to men in our local area to build friendships and engage in activities that will positively impact their health and well-being. The main purpose of Glenurquhart Men's Shed is to provide a setting where men, living locally to Glenurquhart, can come together for friendship, camaraderie, enjoyment and mutual support and enrichment. Loneliness and isolation can be a

real problem for men, especially following retirement, when they are often less likely to have a network of friends. Being a member of a Men's Shed, and working together with likeminded people of good heart, can have a very positive impact on their health and well-being as well as broadening their horizons. Although the original idea of Men's Sheds was founded on the needs exhibited by older men, younger people may also find membership of value to them. Therefore membership is open to any person aged 18 or over, who currently resides in Glenurquhart and its environs.
