Most of us seem to be experiencing the glorious British weather at the moment.

Did you know? Vehicle stopping distances are at least double in wet weather. There is a lot of surface water currently on the roads, reduce your speed and keep your distance from the vehicle in front. Do not attempt to drive through flood water.

For the latest weather updates and flood warnings, follow the Met Office. Take extra care and stay safe on the roads.

⛔️ The A38 through Droitwich will be CLOSED tonight between 8pm and 6am tomorrow morning for overnight roadworks.

This will be the case for the next 4 nights.

A signed diversion will be in place for the duration of the closures.

We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision this morning (17 September).

The collision happened around 11am on the B4204 just outside Clifton Upon Teme when a blue Mazda collided with a tree.

The driver of the car, a man in his 70s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger, a woman in her 70s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage from around the time it happened.

A cannabis farm has been discovered in Ombersley Street East, Droitwich, - opposite the police station.

UPDATE 6.30pm: The road is now open.

A5112 ROAD CLOSURE | Due to a two vehicle collision near to Meole Brace Retail Park in Shrewsbury, part of the A5112 Hereford Road is currently closed.

One side of the carriageway is currently closed, from Bayston Hill services to the direction of the retail park.
