Checkmate at Ulster Chess League for Downpatrick chess club

Downpatrick Chess Club pipped Bangor to win the Division Two of the Ulster Chess League.

As we are in the final weeks before our summer break please note these dates* for our last meet ups of the season

McChess Downpatrick Tuesday June 2nd 7pm

McChess Carryduff Tuesday June 16th 7pm

Denvirs - Wednesday 27th May 7.30pm

St Patrick’s Centre 20th June 1.30pm

We will announce the date for our AGM in early August and everyone is welcome to come along and see what we have planned or join our committee!

A great day of chess! Counting down until our last weekend before we take our break for summer 🫶🏻 only 5 Saturdays left!
It’s been our best year yet, loads of new faces, our adult teams fantastic first place finish, new schools taking part, constant improvements and most importantly lots of laughs! We often get called the “fun chess club” and we absolutely love that - even though we have a serious side and league team we love that our club offers something for everyone. It’s definitely a great source of pride for us! While we are all looking forward to our break we are even more excited to see what our next adventures will be

Hey Newry, Mourne and Down District Council how about an installation here in Downpatrick? There are hundreds of chess players in Downpatrick.

Tried out the new South Lakes chess board tonight
