Come down today to the Cream House Dairy shake shack to grab some green beans, carrots and onions.

Thank you to Something Pretty Plants for donating the seeds this year - despite the weather, they've grown really well- and to the Wellies Project for building the garden planters 💚

Planning on watching the Eclipse 🌒 tomorrow? Want to watch from a great viewing point? For tomorrow only (12/8/26) we will be allowing cars to park on the camping field for a £2 donation to watch the Eclipse.

All donations go to 59th Newchapel Scouts Card or Cash accepted 💷

Viewings from the campsite or you can walk 10 minutes to either the Castle or Old Man of Mow 👓

Don’t forget your eclipse glasses!🤓

Making a Splash! 💦🛟

​To celebrate an incredible year of Scouting, we headed out to Spring Lakes for our end-of-year trip, and it was the perfect way to finish!

​The highlight of the day was definitely taking on the water assault course. We had a brilliant time jumping, sliding, and splashing our way across the water—it was high-energy, wet, and absolutely full of laughter from start to finish!

​A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this such a memorable day to wrap up the term.

From Garden to Grill! 🧅🥔

​Our Scouts have been busy in the garden, and we are thrilled to show off the results of their hard work!

​The Scouts successfully harvested a fresh batch of onions and potatoes this week.

​We can't wait to put them to good use—they will be served at our BBQ this coming Friday!

​It’s wonderful to see our young people getting hands-on with growing their own food and seeing the harvest through from garden to plate.

​Are you a gardening guru? 🌼 🥦 🫛 Can you spare an hour to guide our squirrels, beavers, cubs or scouts, with their garden ventures? Please let us know if you would be happy to visit one week 😊

Thank you so much Bramshall Road parkrun for having us today! It was a warm one, but that doesn't put off our Leaders who know to always . It's important for volunteer organisations to support each other and we loved helping out at Event #200! ⚜️🎉

History and Hikes: Exploring Fauld Crater! 🥾📜

​Our Scouts enjoyed a beautiful evening out exploring our local history!

​The group went on a lovely walk to Fauld Crater.

​While there, they learned all about the history of the explosion.

​It was a scenic outing that even included meeting lots of friendly cows along the way!

Water Wonders and Marshmallow Magic! 🌊🔥
​Our Beavers had an incredible time by the river this week! We combined learning with plenty of outdoor fun:

​Learning in Nature: The Beavers spent time learning all about the water cycle, our local rivers, and the fish that call them home.

​Water Fun: Everyone had a brilliant time splashing around and enjoying the water.

​A Tasty Treat: No riverside adventure is complete without roasting marshmallows over an open fire.
​It was a fantastic way to spend the session exploring the environment!

Keeping Cool with Science! 🍦☀️

​It was a scorcher this week, so we decided to embrace the heat with the coolest experiment of the summer!

​Our Cubs, and Scouts put their science skills to the test to create homemade ice cream. By using milk and sugar in a small bag, tucked inside a larger bag filled with ice and salt, and giving it a good shake—it actually worked!

​Once we enjoyed our tasty creations, we cooled down even further with some high-energy water games. We wrapped up the session by relaxing with an ice pop and a story as the sun began to set.

​A huge thank you to our fantastic Cub, and Scout leaders for running such a fun program and for braving the heat to make it happen for the young people.

It was a high-energy week for the group as we hosted our very own version of the World Cup!

​⚽ Doveridge Scout Group World Cup 2026

​We took to the field for some fantastic football fun, with teams representing countries from across the globe. After some intense matches and great teamwork, the final results were:

​Winner: Scotland

​Second Place: USA

​Third Place: Spain

​It was brilliant to see everyone getting stuck in, showing off their footwork, and playing with such great spirit.
