Every purchase helps us provide the practical support, opportunities and services that enable our companions to rebuild their lives.

Here are just a few examples of what your shopping can help provide:

🧴 £10 – could provide toiletries for five companions for a week.

👟 £15 – could help provide a companion with a new pair of shoes.

💚 £20 – could help a companion access a counselling session.

💚 What does ‘Companion’ mean at Emmaus Dover?

At Emmaus, the people who live in our communities are known as Companions.

The term comes from the French Emmaus movement and reflects our belief in community, equality and mutual support.

Being a Companion means being an active part of the Emmaus Dover community, contributing through work, getting involved in community life, developing new skills and supporting others.

It’s about recognising people for who they are and what they can contribute, rather than defining them by their experience of homelessness.

At Emmaus Dover, we believe that everyone has something valuable to give. 💜
