Exciting news for Squirrels! With the continued success of the YouShape award it's now time for it to be introduced to our youngest section!

The YouShape Award is going to be piloted with some Squirrels in the UK in January next year, with the plan to fully launch across Scouts by 2024.

We're excited to hopefully see some Christchurch Squirrels getting involved with shaping their experience at Scouts, and earning their YouShape Award very soon!

The YouShape Award launched in October 2021. Two years on, find out about what it’s achieved so far, as well as how we’re planning to take it further. Izzie Inga, Deputy UK Youth Commissioner for Perception, tells us the plans.

Gathering young people's ideas doesn't have to be sitting down at tables and writing things down. There are plenty of fun ways we can approach getting the young people involved. For example, a 'cool wall', or an idea snowball fight!

Youth shaped scouting is about us creating an environment where young people can take chances and learn from their mistakes, empowering young people to stand up for what they believe in and lead their peers, and putting young people first and giving them the chance to work with their leaders to make a difference in their group, their community, and the wider world.
