Autism Unlimited stands side by side with autistic people and provides learning, life advice, practical skills and support that is as individual as they are. From bespoke education for children, to independent living skills and career guidance for adults, we ensure that everyone who comes to us for support finds a route to their goals and to a rich and fulfilled life.

5K completed and an incredible £1197 raised! 👏

A huge well done to Susumu Nagawa, Charlie Windebank, Declan Sewell, Rachel McDermott and Kazunori Kuwuhara from Decorum Vending, who took on the Run Bournemouth Supernova 5K for Autism Unlimited.

The charity holds a special significance for the group. Managing Director Declan was inspired by his godson, who is autistic, whilst another colleague began his career with us.

We’re so grateful to the runners and everyone who donated and cheered them on. Thank you for helping us continue our work with autistic people and their families. 💙

Neil’s half marathon challenge raised £510 for Autism Unlimited 💙
 
Neil took on the Bournemouth Half Marathon in honour of his son Tom, who is autistic and non-verbal, raising an incredible £510 to support autistic people and their families.
 
He was joined during the Run Bournemouth weekend by his sister-in-law, Nikki, and his stepson’s partner, Broni, who both completed the Supersonic 10K. Together, the family raised more than £1,200 for Autism Unlimited.
 
Thank you to all three runners for turning their personal connection to autism into such meaningful support for our charity. Every pound raised helps us continue providing education, care and support for autistic people and their families.

Teachers across England to receive new SEND training 📚

The Government has published new SEND training materials for education staff in mainstream schools and post-16 settings in England. The resources aim to build confidence and expertise in inclusive teaching and help staff respond effectively to individual needs.

For autistic children and young people, this understanding can be an important part of creating learning environments where everyone has the opportunity to participate and thrive.

At Autism Unlimited, we know that every autistic learner is an individual, with their own strengths, communication preferences, experiences and support needs.

Training can build knowledge. Putting that knowledge into practice means listening, adapting and understanding the individual.

The teenage years can bring a whole new set of questions for parents and carers.

How do you support your teenager through changes in communication, friendships, independence and emotional wellbeing? And how can you feel more confident knowing what might help at home?

Our Parenting an Autistic Child: The Teen Years workshop is a chance to meet other parents and carers, share experiences and hear from people with both professional and lived experience.

You’ll explore practical ways to support autistic young people aged 11–16, while connecting with other families who understand some of the challenges and questions that can come with the teenage years.

This ADHD Awareness Month, we’re taking a closer look at ADHD, challenging common misconceptions and recognising that everyone’s experience can be different. 
 
ADHD isn’t simply about being hyperactive. It can affect attention, organisation, impulse control and how someone experiences everyday life.
 
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing lived experiences, practical ways to create more inclusive environments and different perspectives on ADHD.

A box might seem like a small thing. But what’s being built here is much bigger.

Through our partnership with IFGlobal, our learners at Futures are gaining hands-on workplace experience, developing practical skills and growing in confidence with every session.

For one learner, that journey has already gone from work experience to a permanent, full-time role with IFGlobal.

It’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when autistic people are given the opportunity, understanding and support to show what they can do.
