Christmas is just around the corner, and what better way to get into the festive spirit than with a Christmas classic! 🎅✨

We're delighted to announce that our Home Instead Dorchester Dorchester Dementia Friendly Cinema will be showing HOME ALONE for our final screening of 2026!

Join us for a morning of laughter, festive fun and wonderful company as we enjoy this much-loved Christmas favourite! Christmas jumpers are optional! ❤️

Our screenings are all about bringing people together, creating happy memories and providing a welcoming, relaxed environment for everyone, especially those living with dementia and their loved ones.

🎬🌟 A wonderful afternoon at our Dementia Friendly Cinema! 🌟🎬

Yesterday, we welcomed everyone to Plaza Cinema for a wonderful screening of the classic The Sound of Music! ⛰️ 🎶

And what an afternoon it was! ❤️

There was plenty of laughter, singing, clapping and even a few people joining in with the songs — exactly what our Dorchester Dementia Friendly Cinema afternoons are all about! 🥰🎵

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces enjoying a classic film together, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where everyone could simply sit back, enjoy the music and have a bit of fun.

A huge thank you to the Plaza Cinema for helping us make these screenings possible, and to the team at Home Instead Dorchesterfor hosting and bringing everyone together. 💚

And of course, to all of the local care homes who came along and supported the afternoon. It was fantastic to see you all and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! 🥰

🎬 What a wonderful afternoon at our Home Instead Dorchester Dementia Friendly Cinema on 28th May! 💜

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special community event. It was fantastic to see so many people come together to enjoy an afternoon of connection, conversation and entertainment in a welcoming, dementia-friendly environment. Mamma Mia was the perfect film for the occasion and it was good to hear so many people singing along to the music and feeling the emotions! ☺️

We were especially delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Dorchester and are so grateful for their support in helping champion dementia-friendly communities.

At Home Instead Dorchester, we are passionate about creating opportunities that bring people together, reduce isolation and help make Dorchester a truly dementia-friendly place to live. Events like these show just how important community connection can be — not only for those living with dementia, but for families, friends and carers too.
