Here's what Lolly Hobbs, one of the fantastic counsellors we work with, said about what DTCP means to her...

"As part of my work with the Dorchester Trust for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I offer low-cost therapy to adults and young adults who would otherwise be unable to access private therapy due to financial barriers. I see two clients each week throughout the year, providing consistent care and a safe, confidential space to explore the challenges they face.

This work is often truly life-changing. Many of the individuals I work with come to therapy at a point of real struggle, feeling isolated, anxious, or overwhelmed, and through the process they begin to rebuild confidence, develop healthier relationships, and experience a greater sense of stability and wellbeing. The opportunity to offer therapy at a reduced cost not only makes a tangible difference to those most in need, but also contributes to the wider community by improving mental health outcomes and reducing the pressure on overstretched public services."

We raised £167.90 in the Casterbridge Rotary Club, Dorchester, Dorset Christmas Draw! This includes the proceeds from the tickets we sold plus a bonus from the Rotary. Thanks so much to The Rotary and to everyone who bought a ticket! 🤩

Some lovely words from one of our fantastic counsellors, Hazel North:

'I have had the privilege of being affiliated to the Dorchester Trust for Counselling and Psychotherapy for eighteen years. It is a very special charity in Dorset which has significantly supported the wellbeing of hundreds of local people. Therapy is life changing but private fees are high and beyond the means of many. In Dorset the DTCP is unique in that up to a year's worth of counselling is offered by very experienced accredited therapists at a fee that is affordable.

I am passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to high quality counselling and it has been hugely rewarding to have, over the years, supported many people to make significant changes to their lives enabling them to be happier and more fulfilled. The impact of this work extends beyond the individual client to family, friends, colleagues and the wider community. I provide my services for a significantly reduced fee and am so grateful to all our wonderful sponsors that enable this work.
