Congratulations to Thomas Hardye School flautists Mark and Myeongsuk. Mark (year 9) has been accepted into the National Children's Orchestra Programme for the second time. Myeongsuk (year 12) has been awarded a further 2 years scholarship on the Future Talent Programme. She recently performed in Sinfonia Smith Square in Westminster, London at an event to celebrate the life of Katharine, Duchess of Kent, co-founder of the Future Talent Programme. Both students have also been accepted into the National Youth Orchestra Inspire initiative.

This Black History Month we're asking music teachers across Dorset and Somerset one question: who's in your music curriculum?

Through October we'll introduce eight musicians who changed music, from an 18th-century Parisian violin virtuoso to the producers behind the Bristol Sound. Each one comes with something to listen to and a classroom activity you can use this term and all year.

Today we held a lunchtime concert featuring six of our fantastic year 12 A Level Music students performing solos. If you would like to hear them perform we are holding an evening concert beginning at 6pm next Thursday in the Thomas Hardye Theatre. All are welcome to this free concert. The Thomas Hardye Hardye School Music Department has a new A Level Music Pathway called the Dorset Enhanced A Level (DEAL) Music Pathway. There are many benefits including free instrumental lessons, extra musicality lessons and opportunities. Calling all young singers. This is our most local audition venue. Give it a go!

‼️ We've just announced another audition date!

Our team will be visiting Christchurch on Saturday 14 November to hear singers aged 9-19 who would like to join the National Children's Choir of Great Britain in 2027!
