π± So, what is Reins & Roots CIC?
You may have seen the name Reins & Roots CIC appearing a little more recently, and we thought it was time to properly explain what it is and more importantly, why it exists.
Reins & Roots CIC was created from a simple belief:
Everyone deserves opportunities to connect, belong, experience and grow.
We know that loneliness, isolation and financial barriers can affect everyone, children, young people, adults, parents, older people and families.
We also know how powerful it can be to simply have somewhere to go.
Somewhere you feel welcome.
Somewhere you can spend time in nature. πΏ
Somewhere you can connect with animals. π΄
Somewhere you can meet others without pressure.
Somewhere you can try something you might never normally get the opportunity to try.
And sometimes, somewhere you can simply be.
That's what we want Reins & Roots CIC to create.
Our home is shared with The Orchard, surrounded by horses, animals and nature, but Reins & Roots CIC has its own purpose and its own community offer.
Through the CIC, we will develop our own programmes, groups, events and experiences designed around connection, belonging, wellbeing and opportunity.
That could mean time with horses and animals, access to nature and outdoor spaces, community groups, family experiences, wellbeing activities, creative opportunities, events, volunteering and opportunities to learn, contribute or simply spend time alongside others.
We'll also work with other practitioners, organisations and community partners, opening the door to experiences and support that go beyond what we can provide ourselves.
A really important part of Reins & Roots is access.
We don't want someone's financial circumstances to be the reason they can't take part.
Through fundraising, grants, partnerships and community support, we want to help remove financial barriers , whether that's enabling someone to access one of our own programmes or experiences, or helping create access to other opportunities that could make a meaningful difference to them.
But Reins & Roots isn't about people having to arrive with a label, diagnosis or fitting neatly into a box.
It might be a young person who needs somewhere to build confidence.
A parent who feels isolated.
A family who needs some positive time together.
Someone who wants to reconnect with nature.
Someone who would love to try something new but simply couldn't afford to.
Or someone who just wants to feel part of something again.
Because ultimately, that's what we want to build:
A community where people don't just access something , they feel part of something. π
A place to connect.
A place to contribute.
A place to experience.
A place to belong.
π± Reins & Roots CIC
Connection. Belonging. Opportunity.
And we're only just getting started
