Fishlake Playing Field Action Group We are the new Fishlake Playing Field Action Group.

We are committed to restoring and upgrading the facilities on the playing fields, which is in desperate need of some TLC, so that our lovely village can have a great place for all to enjoy!

🛝‼️QUICK PARK UPDATE‼️🛝

The fencing from around the park has been removed but unfortunately a rather large branch from the ash tree has fallen on to the park. We have a tree surgeon coming to assess the tree on Sunday. As soon as the tree has been assessed and made safe we can open the gates. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🌳

We’ve been awarded a grant for 180 free trees — and we’d love your help to plant them!

🌱 When: Starting at 11am
🌿 Where: We’ll begin at the playing fields (park), then move to the field beside the church around 11:45am.
Please join us at either (or both!) locations.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Please bring a spade if you have one — if not, there’ll likely be one available to borrow.

We’d especially love for our local children to get involved by planting a tree in the park, so they can watch it grow and feel part of creating our new space. We’ll have little hanging log slices ready to write your name on and attach to your tree ♥️

Full instructions will be provided.

🍰 From 12 noon: Refreshments, bake sale & tree sale in the church.
🌳 Take one home! Trees will also be available to purchase for £3 each, with all proceeds donated to the Playing Fields Committee.

UPDATE👏🏼

We are delighted to announce that we have secured a £20,000 grant from the National Lottery to support the restoration of the new playing field.

Together with the generous donation from the Parish Council and monies received from community fundraising events, plus the incredible support from local businesses, we are within touching distance of our fundraising target. If any individuals or businesses would like to make a private donation or sponsor any pieces of apparatus like our ‘tunnel tractor’ please get in touch, any help is greatly appreciated.

A huge thank you to the Fishlake Parish Council, village residents and supporters from surrounding communities. There are still some events to come in the rest of 2025 and we have started our 2026 plans.

We are pushing to get the park started in the upcoming months if we can reach our target and also have our ‘community tree pack’ from the Woodland trust arriving soon if any volunteers would like to help with planting please get in touch.

📢 Fishlake Playing Field Update 🌿

You may have noticed the park is looking much tidier lately! ✅ The Parish Council now has a new maintenance contract in place to keep the grounds in top condition.

Following a failed safety inspection, the old park equipment has been removed to make way for exciting new installations. Thanks to the amazing fundraising efforts within the village and support from the Parish Council, we're already over halfway to our funding goal for brand new play equipment! 🎉

If you have any fundraising ideas 💡 or would like to make a donation, we’d love to hear from you.

🌼 On another positive note, the Playing Fields group has secured a grant for raised beds and planting in the park. We recently gathered your thoughts on planting ideas at the Church Coffee Morning, and we aim to have the beds installed over the summer.

Fishlake Playing Field Group will be at the Church Coffee Morning this Saturday to display some of the plans we have for the Playing Field.
