Before and after……80 bags of rubbish and a huge pile of hard plastics, prams, oil drums and other random bits gone from Dodds Quarry in Balby by 3 people in 3 hours…..plus Kad for a bit! Thanks so much Jen and Steve for all your hard work today, what a difference we can make when we put our minds to it…..this has been bugging me for months as it’s such a beautiful space for nature and now it can almost finally breathe again…..still more to do! ❤️

Just to remind anyone who wants to come and help clean Dodds Quarry, Balby that it’s this Saturday at 10am, meeting on Cedar Road at the pathway entrance between the bungalows as shown on the map. Wear jeans/ heavy duty footwear and gloves please as there’s lots of brambles! I will be bringing spare gloves and secateurs. Thanks ❤️

So this is Dodds Quarry in Balby, a lovely little hidden gem of nature. Unfortunately some people have been using it as a rubbish dump for a while; i’m not blaming the people who live at the top as this could be from a while ago but it’s obviously been thrown down from there. It’s so sad to see our green spaces being treated like this, especially when they are getting less and less! So who’s up for giving this space a helping hand, you will need gloves and boots for sure as there are a lot of brambles and some old jeans or tough fabric bottoms ❤️ Saturday 18th April at 10am-1pm, come for as long as you like. It is accessible down an alley just off cedar road in balby ❤️I’ll put the location in the comments 😊

70 bags of rubbish cleared from Hexthorpe Ings Woodland in Balby plus numerous fly tipped items including a fridge and half a bed! 8 amazing volunteers, thanks so much to everyone who came today and made such a difference! The woods can breathe again now ❤️

Around 25 sacks of rubbish cleared from the streets and park of Bentley Doncaster this morning, a great community effort! It’s so nice to see so many people coming together to make a difference ❤️

Wow, today marks 8 years since I set up this group and I wonder how many bags of litter we have removed from the streets, parks and green spaces since then?! Well done and thanks to everyone who has helped and supported us along the way, did a little litterpick along the bottom of my road this afternoon and removed 6 bags of litter! ❤️

I took my dog for an early morning walk and was saddened by the amount of litter that I saw so I decided to come back and clean it up…..5 bags and an hour and a half later….! I met some lovely people who stopped for a chat and got a load of steps in, it’s great exercise and so good to see the difference you have made ❤️
