As technology and internet use increases in modern life, it is important to raise awareness about some the unknown aspects of online use. Today, in particular is "Safer Internet Day". We at Cura-Care are going to do a mini-series on Internet Safety. So this week, we are starting off with cover #1 Misinformation!

This refers to the unintentional spread of false or misleading content/information. This can cause serious harm and distress depending on the topic. Key issues include deepfakes (we will cover this next week), conspiracy theories and manipulated news.

You can protect yourself and others by fact checking, reporting harmful content and educating others.

Online courses are available on the NSPCC learning website alongside the UK Safer Internet Centre website.
