Planters around the estate starting to look a lot better today! 🌸

Just to keep everyone updated as we work in the background -

Two years ago we asked the council to help us clear the land rear of the club so that residents would no longer have to deal with the rats and the vegetation would no longer seep into the play park putting further risk to children playing there.

Two years ago the council didn't know it was their land, until we paid for the land registry documents to prove it was!

So we asked again, and offered to pay to have the land cleared ourselves, on condition that we could take over the land to turn it into a community garden to completement the play park.

-

This week, after a two year long wait, this was flatly refused by the council with no reason given. Beyond that it was too expensive to clear it themselves, but they also flatly refused us clearing and using the land ourselves for a community garden.

We can't even spend our own money to improve our estate!

2 to 3 boys aged around 10 ISH have been climbing in the planters up the planters and throwing the compost about.
Seriously guys.. not only is it disrespectful it's unsafe.
If them planters tip over we are not liable for any damages to your children FYI
Check ya kids hands when they get in the proof will be there!

What a fun packed week we have next week!
We are hosting our Easter craft workshop this Sunday and Family hub and Well Doncaster are hosting Easter crafts and litter pick Wednesday!

Let's come together this Easter and have some crafty fun!
We are supporting Friends of Toppies with this event who are working with TogetherinWellness Doncaster to bring a peace garden to Wheatley for us all to enjoy.
There will be a table of crafts that anything on there will be on display in the peace garden but there are plenty to take home.
Food from around the world available too

Good morning! 🌞
The planters have arrived and we are going to assemble tomorrow morning.
If any one has a spare hour at 11am and you want to pop round and give us a hand we will be at the Jefferson entrance to start with at 11am.
Cannot wait to see these up and in bloom!
