As some of you are aware my mum (Debby) was doing a raffle for Marley's ferret rescue and rehoming
A massive thank you to each and every one of you who purchased tickets she raised a massive £245. In context that is the 100 ferrets in rescue fed for around 2 weeks!

After 3 years of fighting: phone calls, emails, solicitors, land registry rights, council, St Leger, the mayor, a farmer and everything in between - the land behind the pub has finally been levelled! Getting rid of the rat-infested habitat and hopefully we can start to rebuild this area as something for the community - please pop your ideas in the comments below. Thank you to everyone involved who made this happen!

Morning everyone, just been on the phone with the project manager of the flood defence work on The Bankings, Danny House and wanted to clear up some worries people have come to us with:

✅ How it works: There is a huge drain at the start of the basin and it will fill the 100m basin first from the drains, before it makes it way to the drains on Wilberforce and Jefferson.
✅ Worried about kids climbing in the drain: a fencing cover will be installed on this so no one can climb in.
✅ Worried this is to support the new builds: this basin is not connected at all to the new build housing estate it is only Clay Lane drains.
✅ The basin will be completely bone dry for 99% of the year, it will only be in extreme heavy rain when the drains become overwelmed it will start to flood first, preventing the drains on Wilberforce and Jefferson flooding first instead.
It will then drain out over the next few days when it is dry.
✅ Worried about kids climbing in: fencing will be installed around the whole basin, but also education from parents will be needed ​​around water safety so that they are not climbing over fences particularly in heavy rain.

We want to make sure we keep getting investment into Clay Lane and this is a positive for the area so any concerns please call Danny the project manager on: 01302 736844.
This project including rain gardens on Jefferson and Wilberforce and works on Livingstone will cost £1 million in total and we want to make sure everyone is happy with the changes so that we never flood again and keep getting money pumped into our estate for improvements ♥️

Hi all

Now we've got the football posts installed and some equipment, would anyone be willing to run a session or two for the kids during the holidays?

Don't have to be a coach but a bit of football experience would be great, see if we can't get some kids in the area interested in playing football and maybe even joining a club! ⚽

Massive thanks to Daniel House at Doncaster Council for working with us on these projects and putting up with us 😂

Next on our Todo list:
➖ We want Livingstone Avenue resurfaced
➖ Our own shop unit on Livingstone to start a community centre
