Working with Hatfield Main Heritage trust and the pit club and taking up a proposal by Stan Bowman over the last few months we have been compiling a list of men that died due to industrial accidents at Hatfield Main Colliery - the initial idea to produce a lasting memorial to these men and boys hit problems finding a comprehensive list but work has been ongoing and with thanks to Stans family Algi Liutkevicus and members of the Trust we’ve now been able to put together a updated list of over 80 fatalities -
Art Avenue has secured a grant to be able to further a new mural to be on the pit club wall as part of the memorial garden
Based on a miners banner the design will include these names - I would be grateful if folk could contact me by email [email protected] with any additional information or corrections to the first draft of names or if families would prefer any name to be taken off the list please contact me

Also I’m please to say we have got local talent Grace cooke & Macie Mckone helping paint our design which will be situation either side of the name.
