Last year, we were delighted to partner with the wonderful people at Ziniz Restaurant & Wine Bar and Visit Bawtry as part of our annual festive appeal, Our Shining Stars.

With their incredible support, we brought our appeal to Bawtry for the first time, taking our fundraising beyond the hospital grounds. It was amazing to be welcomed to the community and spread awareness of our charity!

We are thrilled to share that this new partnership raised over £3,000 worth of star sponsorship from Albemarle Homes, RJ Electrical & Security, Freemasons of Bawtry, Ziniz Restaurant & Wine Bar and Visit Bawtry. All funds raised from our appeal are directly reinvested into our hospitals, improving patient care, facilities and staff wellbeing.

We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to reach the wider community, and extend our heartfelt thanks to the Bawtry community and local businesses for making this possible!

A huge congratulations to Bro. Graham Paul Moody on reaching an incredible milestone of 50 years in Freemasonry. Last night, he was proudly presented with his Jubilee Certificate at Bawtry Lodge, his Mother Lodge – the very place where his masonic journey began.

Brethren were treated to a special evening as we heard about Bro. Moody's incredible life in true Michael Parkinson interview style. From laughter to awe, we listened to the tales of his trials and tribulations — including the story of him scaling Afghanistan in a Toyota Hilux.

Well done, Bro. Moody— an inspiration, a storyteller, and a true Mason through and through.

🎄One Christmas tree: two homes, twice the cheer🎄

For many years, it has been a December tradition at Bawtry Lodge to showcase a beautifully decorated Christmas tree during our festive meeting. Sadly, this magnificent centrepiece would usually only be enjoyed for just a few hours before we all parted ways.

This year, we decided to ensure it continued spreading joy by donating it. A few of our Brethren generously gave their time to move the tree from our Masonic Hall to Brailsford House Residential Care Home, extending its festive spirit to residents for the rest of the season.

At our regular meeting on Tuesday, 3rd December, we had the pleasure of holding a special ceremony by candlelight. The warm glow of the candles created an incredible atmosphere, made even more festive by a stunning Christmas tree standing proudly in the corner of the lodge.

Following the meeting, we gathered at the Crown Hotel for a delightful festive board, where we were treated to a beautiful turkey Christmas dinner. It was a wonderful meal that all the brethren thoroughly enjoyed, rounding off the evening with camaraderie and festive cheer.

Congratulations to W. Bro. Thursby on being installed as the new Worshipful Master of Bawtry Lodge № 5174!

The installation ceremony was a resounding success, conducted with great skill and precision by the step-in installing master and his team of officers. W. Bro. Thursby was placed into the Chair of King Solomon in due form, and he appointed and invested his officers for the ensuing year with confidence and grace

The festive board following the ceremony was a most enjoyable affair with delicious food, fraternal toasts, and great fellowship shared by all. We look forward to a successful and productive year ahead under the leadership of W. Bro. Thursby as Bawtry Lodge continues to uphold the finest traditions and values of Freemasonry.
