As a new branch of the Field & Folk Farmers & Makers Market, we’re bringing you something a little smaller, a little more regular, but with exactly the same heart… until we find a larger permanent local solid ground area.

And we’re delighted to announce our new partnership with The Red Lion, Askern, after who kindly offered, will be giving Little Folk its very first home! ❤️

Little Folk is our answer to bringing a proper traditional weekly market back into the community.

Around 10 carefully selected traders, with core weekly traders alongside rotating guests, focusing on things people can actually come back and buy every week:

🥕 Fresh fruit & veg
🥩 British meat & farm produce
🥚 Eggs & dairy
🧀 Cheese
🍯 Honey, jams & preserves
🥧 Pies, bread & baked goods
🌸 Flowers & plants
🐶 Pet foods & treats
🧼 Handmade & artisan products

And because apparently buying a cabbage is exhausting work… 😂

🍽️ MAKE A SUNDAY OF IT!

Little Folk will be perfectly complemented by The Red Lion’s Sunday carvery, with the pub embracing the same ethos by using local and British produce wherever possible. 🇬🇧

Come for your weekly produce, browse our makers, support independent businesses and then wander inside for a proper Sunday dinner.

Market shopping AND no washing up? Frankly, we’ve peaked. 😂

🌾 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TRADERS

Little Folk is deliberately little, and we’re working with a compact section of the pub car park.

Pitches will therefore be approximately 2m × 2m and gazebo/table setups only.

Unfortunately, trading vans, trailers and vehicles cannot remain on the pitch — there simply isn’t enough space to safely accommodate both.

🚗 Trader arrivals will be staggered.

You’ll arrive at your allocated time, unload your gazebo, tables and stock, then move your vehicle to the designated parking area behind the venue before returning to your stall.

For the right core produce trader — particularly a butcher, greengrocer or farmer — we’re happy to sacrifice a standard pitch to create a larger trading area where possible.

Our larger Field & Folk Farmers & Makers Markets will remain our big showcase events.

Little Folk is the weekly branch — somewhere our community can regularly buy produce while giving farmers, producers and makers an affordable place to trade.

A massive thank you to The Red Lion for backing what we’re trying to create and giving Little Folk somewhere to grow. 🌱

Now we need the community to do the rest.

Use it. Shop it. Share it. Support it. ❤️

Because if we want traditional local markets back in our communities, we have to support the people willing to turn up and trade at them.

👀 DID SOMEONE SAY COMEBACK?!

After taking some time away to have my beautiful baby, settle into life as a mum of two and enjoy that little newborn bubble… The Events Project is coming BACK! ❤️

And we’ve got some BRAND NEW ideas brewing. 👀🔥

But this time, we’re shaking things up.

We’ve always believed that events should be about more than just having a good time.

They should bring people together, tackle loneliness, give families something affordable to enjoy and create those little moments where a community actually feels like a community again.

And after a little break… I’ve realised just how much I’ve missed it.

💔 IMPORTANT UPDATE – BRUNCH WITH SANTA 💔

We’re so sorry to announce that tomorrow Brunch with Santa has to be cancelled.
One of our key volunteers’ children is really poorly, and with only two volunteers available we can’t safely run the event or leave everything to just one person. We never want to let anyone down, but we have to prioritise safety and wellbeing.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause. ❤️

🔄 Refunds:
Please send us your bank details if you paid via B/T so we can transfer your refund.
If you Paid Cash, cash refunds can be collected from The Red Lion at your convenience.

What an absolutely incredible night! Our Christmas Party was the Vibe of all vibes, and it wouldn’t have been possible without all of YOU.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along, we know how hard and stressful Christmas is at this time especially for adults and parents , but you all made a great effort and filled the room with festive cheer 🎤✨

Huge gratitude to Lu Moré and the band, for returning to perform at our Christmas Party and bringing such incredible energy, even with a small crowd.
