Get together-Cornwall is a community interest company (not-for-profit) specialise counselling and support service, with aims of providing an environment that is stimulating and tailor made to meet the needs of the individuals and their supporting network that are living with disabilities. I am the founder, ‘Claire Finnegan-Vyse’, a mum to three with rare medical conditions along with different lev
els of Autism and Aspergers (ASD). I battled to get their complex needs met, and being once wrongly accused of Munchausen by Proxy too became ill myself. Struggling with the increasing strain and isolation of trying to care for my family. I sought help but found nothing that would support my family as a whole. Get togethers’ Coventry and Cornwall groups were born from the desire to provide a safe non-judgmental haven, that supported parents/carers to take control of their own situation, whilst at the same time, promoting positivity for individuals that are living on and with ASD. While my children have grown and I have experienced many more battles over the years, I started to put my experiences to good use. By training to become a teacher/counsellor/play therapist/psychologist with a keen interest in providing a service, for the disabled, non-verbal, that have/or are experiencing, isolation, lack of confidence, and any forms of domestic, and sexual abuse. Get together-Cornwall offers one to one in person or telephone/online Person Centred/Integrative counselling sessions, confidence counselling group work (small 4-6person), and mobile counselling out in the community. Whether you are near or far, we hope you enjoy the insight to what goes on at the farm, and out in our therapy bus.
