Calling All Tea Makers & Cake Bakers!

Ditchling Fair Saturday 20th June.

In the tea barn, we’d love your homemade cakes to help raise money and feed the hungry fair goers!

You can bring your cakes to the barn from 9am on the day or between 2 & 4pm to the church the day before. We’re raising money 50:50 for Ditchling Village Association and the Parish.

If you can help, please email [email protected]

2 weeks to go until Fair day!
Scarecrow Competition is still open!
(sponsored by John Broomfield Removals).

What better to do on a wet soggy weekend than get everyone away from their screens and build a scarecrow?

This year's fair theme, ‘Larks, Laughter and Legends’, is the brief for your scarecrow.

Let your imagination soar. Whether characters, stories, or events, anything reflecting the theme counts as one entry, even if it’s a group like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Separate entries needed for different topics.

The coveted Scarecrow Trophy awaits the most voted scarecrow, but participation is the real prize.

Get creative with upcycled items or start from scratch - just sign up and enjoy!

Entry forms are available here:

As well as being a fantastic local community, we should never forget are part of a global community too.

We're always trying to find ways to balance a fun fair day, and minimising the impact the fair has on the environment.

New for this year we're going 100% reuseable souvenir cups, and they look great!

Pay just £1 for your first cup, then refill to your heart's content, and take it home as a keepsake at the end!

A SPECIAL THROWBACK THURSDAY!

The year is 1950.
The Prime Minister was Clement Attlee.
A Pint was one shilling and 10.
And, somewhere in Ditchling, a 10-year-old boy excitedly put paint to paper to enter his design for the Ditchling Village Fair poster.
This image was kindly provided to us by Sean Bell Savage, and the poster's creator was his late father.
Sean grew up in the village, and although no longer a resident, it was wonderful to see that he still has his father's artwork hanging in his home.
Thank you, Sean, and thank you to your father 🙏🏻🙏🏻
