High Life Highland (HLH) is a charity registered in Scotland and a company, Limited by Guarantee, wholly owned by The Highland Council (THC), whose purpose is to develop and promote opportunities in culture, learning, sport, leisure, health and wellbeing.

The Company HQ buildings are located in Inverness and Dingwall. We operate leisure centres, libraries, museums and a host of other services on behalf of The Highland Council. High Life Highland is a company limited by guarantee registered in Scotland No. SC407011 and is a registered Scottish charity No.

General information

HLH operates across the Highlands of Scotland, currently within the geographical boundary of THC’s administrative area. To help HLH deliver those parts of its business that are not charitable by nature, a Trading Company (a Community Interest Company) has been established, the profits from which are gift aided to the charitable company to assist with its purposes. The Company has a Board of twelve, made up of eight independent members and four Highland Councillors. The Trading Company has a Board of seven, four from the Company and three additional Independent Directors.
