Dingwall Community Fridge This facility is for everyone, please be kind. If there is an abundance of an item help yourself and reduce food waste.

If an item is in short supply or has a long shelf life then perhaps leave it for someone who may struggle to pay for it. The Dingwall Community Fridge is located between the new block of St Clements School and the Community Centre on Tulloch Street.

Changes to Opening Arrangements

As from Monday 20th April, the Fridge will be open from
4pm-10pm, daily. Evening deliveries from Tescos and the Coops will be unchanged.

The Container will be open from 9.20 -10.30am on Saturdays as usual.
On Mondays, from 9.30-10.30, our volunteers will be giving out food from Sheila's Community Cafe in Tulloch St.
Go to the side door and ring the bell.

If you have any time at all (even just a couple of hours now and again) please come along to this event ,as there are so many local Charities and Organisations which could do with your help.
Community Centre is in urgent need of new Members and Trustees.
We need people with different skills and experience for things like basic admin,cleaning,on call duties etc.Most important of all is enthusiasm,inspiring ideas,integrity and reliability.

Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Auction Mart Trainee to join our team and grow with the business.

The Role

This is a varied, practical role offering exposure to every aspect of mart operations, both in the office and the yard, with a clear pathway towards auctioneering training for the right candidate.

You’ll be right at the centre of the action — learning how a modern livestock mart operates from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Office administration including data entry, customer service, phone handling and record keeping
Assisting with sale preparation, cataloguing and post-sale administration
Safe, calm and welfare-focused livestock handling
Yard work on sale days including penning and animal movement
Upholding high standards of health, safety and animal welfare
Engaging professionally with farmers, buyers and the wider public

🎓 Training & Career Development

Full on-the-job training across all departments
Progressive exposure to auctioneering skills including:
Livestock assessment
Understanding bidding and sale procedures
Confidence building and public speaking

Opportunity to train and develop as a future auctioneer

Who We’re Looking For

A genuine interest in agriculture and livestock
Keen to learn, reliable and a strong team player
Confident communicator with good organisational skills
Practical and comfortable working in a busy environment
Happy working both indoors (office) and outdoors (yard)
Farming or agricultural experience is an advantage, but not essential

Hi Folks,
The Rotary Club have very generously agreed to donate much needed toiletries to the Fridge between now and Christmas.
We would be really grateful if people could kindly donate any toiletries to the Rotary Stall on the High Street at the Street Fair on Saturday berween 10am and 3pm.
