Important Announcement of Changes to the Operation of the Sharing Shed

The volunteers who run the Sharing Shed have become overwhelmed with the quantity ( and often quality) of the clothes, bedding and shoes donations. Sorting and often having to dispose of these donations is taking up an unrealistic amount of the volunteers time. Requests to reduce the quantity of donations or only donated good quality clean items are frequently ignored by some people.
A decision has been made therefore by all the volunteers.
As from today Friday 4th September we will no longer accept donations of
CLOTHES, BEDDING, CURTAINS and SHOES.
All remaining stock will be cleared by the 30th September
We are sorry that it has come to this but the volunteers just don’t have the time and energy to go through several bags of donations every day and then take many of them to recycling or the dump.
Donations of food, bric-a-brac and books will still be accepted.
